About

Matias is a 25-year-old artist, composer, and researcher from Quito, Ecuador, whose work explores the intersection of music, technology, and inclusion. A deep belief in the transformative power of sound led Matias to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition at Universidad San Francisco de Quito and a Master’s in Music Technology at Georgia Institute of Technology, where their research focuses on making music more accessible for people with disabilities.

Matias’s portfolio includes collaborations with organizations such as UNICEF, USAID, and the World Health Organization. Recent projects include work with M.E.A.T. (Music Experiments in Emerging Arts and Technology) on interactive installations which merge AI, sound, and perception, as well as collaborations with psychologist and dancer Emilia Garrido on the award-winning dance piece I Used to Live in the Mountains and A Place in Between, a multidisciplinary piece exploring neurodivergence in the arts.
