Matias Cevallos is a 24-year-old artist from Quito, Ecuador. Matias's passion for music and the transformative power of music led Matias to pursue an undergraduate degree in Music Composition from Universidad San Francisco de Quito and a master's degree in Music Technology from Georgia Institute of Technology. Matias's current research examines methods for making music more tactile and interactive for people with disabilities. Matias's artistic journey is characterized by a fusion of technological experimentation and musical composition. The portfolio features diverse projects with organizations such as UNICEF, USAID, and WHO. Among Matias's most recent projects are collaborations with psychologist and professional dancer Emilia Garrido on the award-winning dance piece "I Used to Live in the Mountains (the Descent Towards the Sea)" and "A Place in Between," a groundbreaking dance piece that highlights neurodivergence within the arts.
